¡Hola

recently, one of our friends celebrated her day of birth by inviting her into her home and and entertaining us in quite a Mexican themed evening. walking into this huge farm house, is amazing, because of the high ceilings and the unexpected twist and turns that loop into another room, but most of all, on every flat surface was another sort of sweet or chocolate that could be indulge whenever, without restriction. so firstly, once recovered by the large variety choice of sweets, i quickly placed all the Haribo rings on my fingers, before have the time to take a  ice-cream shaped cake i found myself outside, admiring a multi-coloured-paper-mache- horse-piñata, hanging off the quite over-large tree. being a some what inpatient person, and having never hit a piñata before, i went first, before anyone could object. and it was surprisingly hard and it did take everyone all together at the end for it to fall, and for everyone to gather their own personal stock of sweets, personally, i went for the white-chocolate buttons, but their was also party poppers, which brought me back 5 years. once the piñata got replaced by a tire swing, this lead to whole new exciting venture where laughing and screaming were both present as everyone tried their hardest to fit in, and to not fall out. once we finished swinging of that tree, we moved over to another tree which was made, born, grown for climbing. i never found out if they had carved it so perfectly or not, but this tree was made to be climb, and being that it was my first encounter with this tree i didn't go that high, but i had never seen people climb a tree so quickly and get so far up, it was quite an amazing thing to view, and i was tempted to carve myself a climbing arena in one of my trees, but then i remembered that i had no ability or skill when it came to gardens or nature in any way, shape or form. once the discovery of this amazing tree had been experienced, and everyone stopped pretending to be squirrels, we made our way to the inside of the white farm house, and i will take this opportunity to sincerely apologise to anyone i may of harmed or visually scared with my original dancing skills. but once others had recovered, we realised our Mexican experiences had finished and tacos and nachos were still to come. now personally, ii have never had tacos and i don't think i will have them again, simply because i do not deal well with spicy food, and my mouth was slightly on fire. after about 10 glasses of fruit punch, the dancing skills returned and the evening was finished with laughter and pictures people try to forget.
Quite the Piñata
home-made rainbow cakes in a jar
a bit of nostalgia with the party poppers
ohh, those ice-cream shaped cakes.

we try to look our best on a daily basis, but in the end we simply laugh at the attempt and give-up

busy bee

so lately things have been kind of hectic (for once!) last weekend i had my bronze duke of edingburgh practise expedition which was surprisingly a lot of fun considering the large amounts of excercise that i did - which is normally such a chore. luckily for me, the following monday was a bank holiday and of course i had to reward myself for getting home in one piece with copious amounts of tea, skittles and magic stars. on the monday my mum and i went into town because i'd been anxiously waiting for a moment to arrive so that i could develop my latest roll of film (pictures that i had taken in paris during the easter) - it turned out that i had taken more pictures of pigeons than i recalled taking. nevertheless, my mum and I decided to visit a good friend of mine, H&M as we waited for the pictures to develop. At first i walked in and i was quite unpleased by the collection, but i made my way upstairs and found a selection of block coloured bright tops, boho lace and my personal favourite, peter pan collars. much to my delight i did not have to go home empty handed! i ended up buying two new tops that i'm so excited about wearing when the sun finally makes an appearance that i thought that i should share them on here!

So here they are! (excuse the bad quality photo's, i am in no position to name myself a photographer and seeing as i'm too embarrassed to ask a member of my family to take them for me (unfortunately my cat is not a very good photographer), i settled with taking them myself)

again, i apologize for the terrible pictures! x

a bit of sour in the sweet

so let me start by saying that i am not a cooking person. in any way, shape or form. my unlimited number of cooking disasters are enough to write a book, but instead i decided to write a post. but, recently i have discovered quite a miracle, perfectly  illustrated and written for my-non-cooking-self to understand, The Hummingbird Bakery. my usual consecutive trend was broken when i made the soft squared brownie, proud of my rare accomplishment, i then tried the blondies - white chocolate brownies, a personal favourite. once all the chocolate had been melted, stirred and cooked, i searched the book for something different, and i came upon this lovely lemon bars recipe, being quite fond of sourness, i decided it was time for a change, and a less-chocolate one.

the wonderful book i recommend to all

lovely little lemon bars, perfect with tea.

watching a little box with moving pictures..

many people have told me i watch "too much" tv, but how does one know if they watch "too much" tv? it's not like it can be measured, so i tend to ignore them, and carry on with my daily life, worried about fictional friendships and of course, your usual love triangle that is almost written in stone, always making an appearance in anything and everything. basically, i was just casually carrying on running through my thoughts, confused about who A is, and if Chuck and Blair will ever end up together ( i shall never discuss the possibility of Blair with Dan, its bollocks) constantly admiring the writers, and their some-what unexpected responses, i suddenly realised  how well they were dressed! every character has a certain image, reflecting their personality, and i was shocked! i was shocked, that i have never really taken the time to watch what they wear, i was shocked that i didn't know who these stylist were, who were creating perfect outfits (and sometimes dreadful ones). so it sent me on a mission, instead of admiring the actresses and their beautiful red-carpet looks as well as their on camera ones, i went searching for these wonderful stylist, and who they were, and where they found their inspiration (all of this instead of revising )

Gossip Girl - Lauren Scruggs (she did the majority of the episodes, not all of them)
both in Paris and New York, they never failed to look their best.

90210 - Katrina Mastrolia &Heather Slandinski ( they styled her both on set and is this magazine)
she is secretly my favourite

is that alison? where is spencer?
Pretty Little Liars - Heather Hybbert
perfect colour combination
Sex and the City - Pat Field
now, this photo doesn't do it justice, but i simply wanted one not too outrageous and had all four of them in, but Carrie is the queen of designer, without a doubt.

coachella!

so, of course, once again, I am sat at home scrolling through endless pages of pictures and videos from coachella and pretty much turning green with envy - this has been happening for the last few years now, it's a hard habit to let go of, unfortunately! although I live in england, the excitement of Coachella which is all the way in sunny california, always hits me hard, not just the fact that pretty much everyone that is something in the music industry has and are going to perform there, but also the fact that celebrities show us that although they are famous, they act the exact same as we do at festivals - although, admittedly, they dress much better.
so aside from the fact that acts such as bon iver, florence + the machine, arctic monkeys and many many more performed there this year, I thought that i'd post some of the other greatest parts of the beautiful festival itself, so brace yourself for a large serving of outfit envy....

Lily Collins and Emma Watson, must I say much more?
Chord Overstreet and Emma Roberts - asdkjakdjsakjd is all I have to say
Vanessa Hudgens pretty much has festival down to a tee

Rihanna performing, she reminds me of something you would see on tumblr!
Lea Michelle and Lauren Conrad at the Lacoste L!VE pool party
Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder being perfect
I will forever love Whitney Port
I'm starting to think that maxi skirts were made for Isabel Lucas to float around in
Kate Bosworth, why must you be so wonderfully dressed?
Lily Collins is so cute!
Josh Hutcherson being his normal beautiful self
Sky Ferreira DJ-ing at the Mulberry party is the greatest thing!
More of Vanessa Hudgens, someone please tell me how her hair can be so perfect all the time?
Azealia Banks and Florence, I love how they're so different but together they look lovely
Lauren Conrad taking pictures with Haylie Duff (flashback to my childhood!)
Katy Perry, how can she pull this off so effortlessly?
Hello again Kate Bosworth!
Nina Dobrev, I am in love with this colour

Vanessa Hudgens pretty much concluding that she was my Coachella fashion highlight, oh and her really hot
boyfriend Austin Butler too (although he's not Zac Efron)

So, this pretty much concludes my Coachella highlights! I'd recommend that you watch some of the performances online because Bon Iver were incredible! Maybe in a few years I'll be able to go, but for now i'll just stick to keeping my experience down to the beauty of the internet!

Hope you enjoyed this post, Kimiya x

None of these images are mine, all were found on the internet, Credit to all owners, thank you for your wonderful pictures!

...waited so long for summer

this past week, i have been clearing out my jumpers and woolly tights, making space for summer shorts and light blouses, thanking the sun for making an appearance. with temperatures in the 20s, my friends and i all knew that this weather could not be wasted, as a rare occasion it was, considering we live in England. so the day started with some-what a tiring start at the gym, making sure that the chocolate we would consume afterwards would be guilt-free. what i personally admire at the gym is the TV's attached to the equipment, i mean, the gym was invented too make our generation less lazy and healthier, and somehow they have mixed what made us so inactive blended with this century's exercise. after this some what healthy start, we made our way to the park to eat our way back to the gym, with bagels, waffles, chocolate and the occasional apple, it certainly lifted our moods. next we wondered around aimlessly, trying hard to take urban pictures, climbing a thousand flight of stairs to reach the top of a car park where we have the nicest view on our town, possible. things got thrilling when we decided to take a daring picture by the edge of the wall, with the whole of about 10 meters (i'm guessing, i actually have no idea but it definitely felt that high) underneath of us, trying so hard not to fall we certainly did something different and surprising amusing. once we bought our milkshakes, we had the brilliant idea to walk alongside the river, feeding the ducks and trying ever so hard to skim pebbles, miserably.
overall, the day definitely involved burning calories but also laughter and some moments of fear.

may the odds be ever in your favor....

of course, being the teenage girls that we are, we have been ridiculously obsessed with the hunger games, but if you've read them, you would feel the same way. the way the books are written are so annoyingly brilliant that you feel like you're wasting time when you're not reading them. so a few weeks ago we pre-booked our tickets and literally counted down the days until friday march 23rd when we'd finally be able to see our imagination come to life on the big screen.
we got to the cinema in style... well, we got to the cinema with a bag of doritos, cookies and milkshakes which completely defeated the purpose of the gym session that we had done just before, and we braced ourselves for the excitement of the film.
it was the first showing in our cinema so the cinema was jam packed with all of the eccentric hunger games fans, so the normal silence of a cinema was not carried out and the three finger salute was shown by every member, which was undeniably odd seeing as it was a cinema screen but also quite breath taking. of course the film was absolutely incredible in every single way, although at first we were not convinced with some of the choices on actors and locations, however our opinions were soon transformed and we fell in love with all of the choices that were made.
the film was very true to the book apart from a few exceptions but of course, we did not mind, the outstanding amount of detail that they managed to cram into the film made it even better and oh, did i forget to mention the cast full of extremely attractive people? must've slipped my mind...
I don't want to say too much because I don't want to ruin the film for anyone, so i'm just going to recommend that you definitely go and see it and if you haven't read the books, GET READING!
If you can't get down to a cinema right now, here are some pictures from the premiere and some of the cast that i just couldn't resist adding into the mix, i'm sure you won't mind...
happy hunger games!

i'm sorry, i just couldn't resist!
