Wooly Jumpers and Winter Wishlists

Hello! It's been an extremely long time since our last post here on the blog which is not good! However, all will soon be well as we are planning to get back into the blogging scene (yes, I called it the blogging scene) and posts will be far more regular! I thought I'd do a quick update...

As winter has finally dawned upon us (hallelujah) the season of tea sipping by the fire, fluffy slippers (which are a huge subject of conversation between Vicky and I), wooly jumpers and tights, christmas card writing and spending too much money has arrived along side it and I for one, could not be more excited!

I'm currently on the prowl for the perfect skater skirt to wear this winter because as practical as jeans may be, they are not always comfortable and can get quite boring which is a shame and I'm obsessed with these two from Olive Clothing .

I'm hoping to test out my self control on some online shops on the 1st of December because Vicky and I set ourselves a challenge called 'No Spend November' which oddly enough I managed to stick too, so I must wait until December to unleash myself on the shops.

Last week, we went to a Lucy Rose gig in the most adorable place in our town, the inside was decorated with fairy lights which accompanied Lucy Roses voice perfectly. She was truly phenomenal and due to the venue being so small the gig was really intimate which was something I'd never seen before! If you're not familiar with Lucy Rose you should definitely search her up on youtube. I would personally recommend 'Night Bus' or 'Be alright' which, is still in my head and has been since last Tuesday!
Vicky and I were fortunate enough to meet Lucy (yes, we are now on a first name basis) after her performance and we bought some of her tea (she sells her own tea and jam, how incredible!) which is true to it's word... amazing. It's the perfect combination of earl grey and english breakfast and as a tea fanatic, I approve!

Not the greatest quality, but there was a large head in the way, so that is my excuse!

Anyway, winter is here my dear friends, and I for one am determined to set aside the fact that I have many exams coming up (I wish I could genuinely do this) and make this winter an unforgettable winter (could I be more cliche?)

We have many plans for this winter, Lucy Rose can be ticked off the list, A trip to London to go Ice Skating at Somerset House and to drink tea is coming up, a christmas dinner with friends and an end of the world party, oh, and (too) many christmas shopping trips.

All I can hope for now is a sprinkle of snow to make this winter perfect.

Goodbye for now!

may the odds be ever in your favor....

of course, being the teenage girls that we are, we have been ridiculously obsessed with the hunger games, but if you've read them, you would feel the same way. the way the books are written are so annoyingly brilliant that you feel like you're wasting time when you're not reading them. so a few weeks ago we pre-booked our tickets and literally counted down the days until friday march 23rd when we'd finally be able to see our imagination come to life on the big screen.
we got to the cinema in style... well, we got to the cinema with a bag of doritos, cookies and milkshakes which completely defeated the purpose of the gym session that we had done just before, and we braced ourselves for the excitement of the film.
it was the first showing in our cinema so the cinema was jam packed with all of the eccentric hunger games fans, so the normal silence of a cinema was not carried out and the three finger salute was shown by every member, which was undeniably odd seeing as it was a cinema screen but also quite breath taking. of course the film was absolutely incredible in every single way, although at first we were not convinced with some of the choices on actors and locations, however our opinions were soon transformed and we fell in love with all of the choices that were made.
the film was very true to the book apart from a few exceptions but of course, we did not mind, the outstanding amount of detail that they managed to cram into the film made it even better and oh, did i forget to mention the cast full of extremely attractive people? must've slipped my mind...
I don't want to say too much because I don't want to ruin the film for anyone, so i'm just going to recommend that you definitely go and see it and if you haven't read the books, GET READING!
If you can't get down to a cinema right now, here are some pictures from the premiere and some of the cast that i just couldn't resist adding into the mix, i'm sure you won't mind...
happy hunger games!

i'm sorry, i just couldn't resist!

rainy london...

so, last saturday my mum and I (kimiya) decided it was about time we went shopping in order to spend all of our money on things that we will most likely regret buying later. we had an amazing time in london whilst it rained on us relentlessly, nevertheless the day went on! there are four things that I love the most about shopping:
1. the time spent getting ready in the morning tactfully putting on vests and tights just incase the moment when you find something you've been looking for.
2.  the exhaustion afterwards knowing that although your feet are in pain you have actually burnt a lot of calories whilst also enjoying yourself.
3. getting home and putting on a mini fashion show and then not having the heart to get changed out of your new things afterwards.
I felt like I was in heaven as I stepped into each shop and immediately found myself indulged in a sea of pastel coloured blouses and dresses - thank god spring is finally here!
this trip was a successful one for me, so I thought I'd make a quick post of some pictures I took. I decided to make a bit of a wild decision and actually bought something completely unexpected and out of my comfort zone, but I love it - it will most likely be featured sooner or later in our blog! - look out for it :) kimiya x

my camera amuses me...

would anyone like to buy this for me?

little eggs all around london!

hunger games posters everywhere!

p.s. we saw the hunger games yesterday! i'm still excited about it, it was incredible! post coming soon!

i seem to find joy in immaculately organized places...

hello, it's kimiya! it's true that you can tell a lot about a person from their room or their home, it shows us a glimpse inside the environment that they surround themselves in day by day. i will be the first to admit that yes, i do have a tiny bit of OCD and yes, my bedroom definitely reflects my personality, but that's just the way that i want it to be, i like to think that if someone walked into my bedroom they could see from the second that they walked in that i like to keep things clean, i most definitely like to keep lists, i like to get creative (although, admittedly i'm not very good at it!) and make collages and from my collection of snippets of new york plastered around, that i like new york...
i cannot wait until i am old enough to have my own home, because i can already imagine it. i often spend endless hours scrolling through interior design websites and drooling over the places that some people call their home. i often see indoor brick walls, stacked bookshelves, crisp white bed sheets, dangling lights, wooden floors, cream walls, fairy lights strung elegantly, balconies, world maps and clusters of photo frames. so, i thought i'd post a few of the pictures that inspire me the most.
i know, it's not everyones cup of tea, so i apologize if this post does not interest you in anyway!

i hope these inspire you in some way or the other!
and i also hope you have a lovely day/evening!

disclaimer - i do not own any of the images above, all credits to the owners!

my name is kimiya... and i'm a bagaholic.

since i can remember i have been in love with bags. i remember my first 'proper' handbag... it was an atrocious shade of pink with a little pink poodle on it to match. i remember thinking i was the absolute coolest girl in the world as i strutted down the high street in it. of course, since then my style has drastically changed (thank god) and i solemnly swear you will never catch me with a pink handbag with any sort of animal on it ever again... unless mulberry goes for an animal inspired collection.. then i'll rethink it. at the age of just ten i had a bag collection large enough to run a small shop. of course, i had no use for them, i just liked them. even at my age now of 14 i still have a large bag collection, fortunately i got rid of the most hideous bags and replaced them for much simpler, yet still lovely ones.
yesterday, i went up to london with my mum and my sister to see the lion king (it was absolutely amazing) and we decided to go for a bit of a shopping trip and to go out to bella italia for lunch (if you haven't been... go, now) and of course i ended up leaving london with a new brown satchel type bag which i admittedly fell in love with because of it's style that was so strikingly similar to the mulberry alexa chung bag and also a bright coral red purse.
so, in honor of this beautiful bag buying (alliteration there) occasion, i've decided to do a 'what's in my bag' type post... and here it is:

Okay, so, inside my bag i have:
- my purse
- my purple ipod and my massive headphones
- vaseline lip balm
- a hair clasp
- one lonely bobby pin
- half a tube of polos
- a notebook (for my many lists)
- a pen, you never know when you may need one!
- company magazine
- gloves
- random leaflets that i picked up in london from lazy oaf?
- my film camera! it is so heavy.
- two rolls of film - i was about to get them developed
- the hunger games! this book is amazing! i finally finished it and i would DEFINITELY recommend it.

Bag - H&M - £14.99
Purse - Monki - £6

little cafes, cups of tea and good company.

a recent tradition of ours has become going to starbucks or other little cute cafes as often as possible. we've managed to secure ourselves a place in our local starbucks that we take over with our loud laughter and the occasional hot chocolate spill (we are hopelessly clumsy). everytime we get into the cafe, we place our orders, retrieve our drinks and make our way upstairs to our usual spot, occasionally we find the odd person in our sofa with their laptop and think better of staring at them awkwardly until they eventually leave. we make do with the dim lights and we still have a lovely time. i guess, what i'm trying to say, is that although the weather's cold (it's actually snowing outside as i speak) there's always things that can be done. we've recently found another little cute restaurant that sells adorable cupcakes and is stacked with cute pastel chairs with a cath kidston style arrangement. these are the places that make winter just a bit more bearable.

oh flash, why must you be so ugly.
